About Me

I am a 16-year mortgage industry veteran and currently serve as VP of Development & Regional Manager for Mason-McDuffie Mortgage.  I am the Founder & Host of the Mortgage Marketing Expert podcast, where I interview expert guests who share firsthand & advice to help mortgage professionals build their business, and I’m the Co-Founder of Industry Syndicate, the real estate & mortgage industry’s first podcast network. I am a Content Advisory Board Member & contributor to HousingWire, and I was recently named one of National Mortgage Professional Magazine’s “40 Most Influential Mortgage Professionals Under 40“.  I have built branches and coached sales teams in markets all over the country, and currently reside in the Dallas, TX area.

My Background

I was born and raised in a rural area of SW Missouri. My mom was a teacher and my dad owned a residential construction company. I graduated high school and started college at the University of Arkansas.  Several years later I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from John Brown University. Prior to starting my mortgage career I gained some extremely valuable career skills in my first jobs as a retail store general manager, a corporate recruiter, and an apprentice in residential construction.

I have held positions as a Loan Consultant, Sr. Loan Officer, Branch Manager, Business Development Manager, and Area Manager.  I earned by Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS), and was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Association of Mortgage Professionals (AAMP). I also held an Independent Mortgage Broker license, and owned/operated my own company before selling it to the largest mortgage lender in the country at that time. I was the top originator in a multi-state region with that company during the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009.  Between 2010 and 2012 I developed production and built branches throughout the South and Southeast regions of the US.

Since 2013 I have built offices throughout the Central Region and worked some of the top mortgage banking talent in the business. In May 2019 I found a home at Mason-McDuffie Mortgage where we are working are to help our team thrive in a modern mortgage industry that many are struggling to find their place in.

Throughout my life I have been fortunate to be surrounded by people who taught me the importance of education, both in and out of the classroom. I was taught to always seek out that will help get me where I wanted to go. Having a coach or mentor is allowing someone to take their own experience and convey it to you as wisdom. Much of what I’ve been able to accomplish in my professional life is a direct result of that.
